Have your NIC and a bank statement or passbook ready. You will then proceed to include your NIC details. You will land on a page that will require your phone number and email. You will receive an OTP shortly to enter and proceed.
Step 01: Investment Options
Choose your investment option and preferred service center.
Step 02: Personal Details
Enter your personal details. Input your full name as it appears on your NIC. The system will automatically generate your first name and calling name, which you can adjust as per your preference.
Select your citizenship. Choose from Sri Lankan, Sri Lankan with dual citizenship, or Sri Lankan residing overseas. For the latter two options, additional information will be required. If you hold dual citizenship or reside overseas, you’ll need to upload the bio page of your passport and relevant visa documents.
Additional step for Sri Lankans with U.S. citizenship. Download the Factor Declaration, an editable PDF, and upload it.
Step 03: Identification
Upload a portrait photo of yourself and the guidelines are there for your reference. Then upload both sides of your NIC.
Step 04: Contact Details
Your primary mobile number and email, as on record, will be displayed automatically. Enter your permanent address. If it differs from your NIC, you’ll need to submit proof of billing.
Enter your correspondence address, if different from your permanent address.
Select your status of residence.
Step 05: Employment Details
Include your employment details as required.
Step 06: Background
Confirm if you are a politically exposed person (PEP). If yes, tick the relevant boxes below and specify your relationship as a PEP. Confirm your taxpayer status. If you are a taxpayer, provide your tax file number (TFN)
Step 07: eKYC Information
Provide basic information including purpose, source of funds, anticipated monthly volume, and expected mode of transactions. Further instructions for investments will be provided. Adjust your selections as needed. Enter your bank account details and upload the first page of your bank passbook.
Step 08: Nominee Details
Nomination is not applicable for government securities and equities. For other investments, you can add multiple nominees. Ensure the percentage values for all nominees sum up to 100%.
For nominees under 15 years old, only their birth certificate information is required. Nominees aged 15 to 18 can use either their NIC or birth certificate. Nominees over 18 years old require only their NIC. Don’t forget to upload the identification documents of the nominees.
Step 09: Subscription and Engagement
The value-added services are selected by default but can be adjusted according to your preference. First Capital will contact you to verify your details. For the verification, select your preferred date and time from the available slots.
Upload a picture of your signature. If you have selected Equity, you can opt for the online Equity trading facility by selecting ‘yes’.
Step 10: Terms and Conditions
Agree to the terms and conditions. Your signature will be added to these agreements upon agreement. After agreeing to the terms and conditions, an OTP verification will be conducted.
Thank you for completing the application. Upon submission, you will receive an application reference number. Shortly after, the link for the video verification call will be sent to you via SMS and email.
